STEP 1 Remove applicator tube from package.
STEP 2 The cat should be standing or in a comfortable position for easy application.
STEP 3 Holding the applicator upright, pointing away from your face, place your thumb and index finger around the applicator tip under the large disk. With the other hand, grasp the stem of the applicator tip above the small disk. Press down firmly on the small disk until both disks meet, piercing the seal.
STEP 4 Part the hair down to the level of the skin and slowly apply the product at the base of the cat or kitten’s head until the applicator tube is completely empty, as shown in the diagram below. Avoid superficial application to the cat’s hair. Do not get the product in your cat’s eyes or mouth.
STEP 5 Discard the empty applicator tube as outlined in the Storage and Disposal section.
STEP 6 Repeat every month, or as recommended by your veterinarian.
STEP 7 For optimal treatment, control and prevention of adult fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, ticks and chewing lice year-round treatment is recommended.
Active ingredients include: Dinotefuran 22.00%, Fipronil 8.92% and Pyriproxyfen 3.00%.
Do fleas and ticks have to bite in order for Catego to work?
No. Catego kills fleas and ticks through contact so it is not necessary to wait for the flea or tick to bite your cat for Catego to begin working.
Can Catego be used on pets other than cats?
Catego is specifically designed for cats. Please use only on cats. Do not use Catego on dogs, or any other animal.
How quickly does Catego begin to work on fleas?
Catego works fast and kills fleas within 6 hours.
Is it okay to apply Catego more than once a month?
No, apply Catego only once a month, or as recommended by your veterinarian.
What age and weight does my cat need to be before I can apply Catego?
Catego can be used on kittens over 8 weeks of age and weighing over 1.5 lbs.
Why am I still seeing fleas on my cat after applying Catego?
While Catego does kill by contact, it is possible that you could still see fleas on your cat for a period of time. Usually these are new fleas existing in the environment, or fleas that have been exposed to Catego and have yet to perish.
