Our Elderberry Syrup recipe is a staple in our family. We make it every winter and whenever someone comes down with a cold. This recipe was formulated by our family of four generations of Herbalists. This kit is filled halfway with organic and wildcrafted Elderberries, along with a blend of our favorite organic herbs known for their action of supporting the immune system, aiding the respiratory system, and other active medicinal properties that make this medicinal syrup our goto whenever we begin to feel the nip of the seasonal what-have-you that's going around. During troubling times such as these, this is what our family takes to boost our immune response and resilience.‡
Elderberry syrup is easy to make at home. You simply combine this herbal blend with water and bring it to a boil, then you simmer the decoction for 30 minutes, covered. Afterwards, strain out the herbs before melting in honey (not included) into the decoction. We suggest using raw organic local honey, as the local plants bees visit can aid many allergy responses. And viola, it's ready! This kit makes about 24 ounces of finished syrup. The taste is a delicious berry spice and comes entirely from the medicinal herb and elderberry blend, as this dry herb blend contains nothing artificial and no flavorings. This is our family's favorite "all natural cough syrup." Take up to 1 TBSP daily. We focus on medicinal strength, so a little goes a long way.

Our Elderberry Syrup recipe is easy to make at home. Simply combine package in saucepan with water. Bring to boil, then simmer covered for 30 minutes. Strain in glass container (we prefer cheesecloth). Add raw honey while hot (honey not included). Store in sealed glass container. Syrup will last one month in refrigerator. Take up to one tbsp daily. If you notice digestive upset, then that means you're taking too high of a dose and should lower your daily amount.
